Dave Morris is a storyteller

Dave Morris tells stories in everything he does. Whether he's writing a poem, song, or improvising, even when he teaches, he follows a story arch. He believes that stories teach us the things we can only learn through experience. His one-man improvised storytelling show has been called "amazing" and "inspiring" by improvisers and poets.

Dave Morris is a poet

His spoken word poetry has been described as "funny, clever, and yet still romantic" relating to people from all walks of life. As a slam poet he has competed in Vancouver and Victoria and was a member of the 2009 Victoria Slam team. He also placed third at the Vancouver Finals for the Individual World Poetry Slam in 2008... Dave Morris is an improviser

Dave Morris works with The Canadian Improv Games as an Associate Artistic Director nationally and a Regional Director locally in Victoria. He's participated in improv festivals around the world including Seattle, Chicago, and Berlin and is the Artistic Director for the 2010 Victoria International Improv Festival. He also produces, performs and teaches improv regularly all around Victoria.

Making music makes Dave a happy person. Not only has he recorded two albums as a solo artist ("stories i wish were mine" and "Monsters like music too"), he's also the front man and lead song writer for the Victoria-based folk/rock/storytelling band Les Jacqueries.

Dave Morris has been teaching workshops for over a decade. His instruction has been described as honest and inspiring. He currently teaches workshops in improvisation and spoken word poetry for high school students and adults. He is available for classroom session, conferences, festivals and more.
